Dear Parishioners,
The global spread of the corona virus has become the urgent preoccupation of everyone and is the central topic of discussion and concern for all of us.
This pandemic is a challenge and we must approach it in faith. As a church, we need to take preventive measures and commit ourselves to prayer, and entrust our lives to Christ.
I think our enforced retreat from the world, and our disrupted routines can be an opportunity to grow closer to God and more prayerful. We also can become closer to one another as we carry their burdens in our hearts.
We are deprived of the privilege of gathering together to celebrate the Holy Eucharist, especially during this Sacred moment for Christians, Holy Week. During this unprecedented period when we are feeling quite vulnerable, let us together implore God’s providential, divine intervention. He is never absent from us. He will hear our prayer and supplications. Let us not fear or lose hope. He Is Risen, and has conquered sin, suffering and death.
I pray for all of you and your families, and I offer the Mass each day for your intentions, and for relief and healing.
Happy a Joyful Easter, and stay well.
In Christ,
Father L. MacEachen
Pastor, Ascension of Our Lord
