Easter: The victory of Love

In his 2025 Easter message, Montreal’s Archbishop Christian Lépine invites us to rediscover the heart of the Resurrection: love conquering hate, mercy healing wounds, and peace triumphing over war.

As individuals, families, friends, and citizens, may we welcome Easter as a living hope—one that renews our hearts and strengthens our joy.

The Universal Catholic Church will celebrate a special Jubilee Year-Holy Year in 2025.
This tradition dates back to 1300 when Pope Boniface VII inaugurated the first Holy Year.
The theme of this Jubilee year is “Pilgrims of Hope”. Our Holy Father, Pope Francis opened the Jubilee Year with the opening of the Holy Door of Saint Peter’s Basilica in Rome.
The Jubilee year is a year set aside to encourage all the faithful to embark on a pilgrimage of hope, to repent of our sins and forgive the sins of others, and to renew a focus on the spiritual life and respond to the life of grace that God provides each one of us.

Many celebrations and activities are planned around the world, and many in our own diocese. For information please visit the website of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Montreal.

A booklet has been created detailing the Church and its place in the architectural church history of Quebec, the particularly unique characteristics of its original Casavant organ, as well as the stained glass windows.
