Centennial Message

We are honoured to commemorate the centennial observance of our parish, which has its foundation stone, Jesus Christ.

It was because of His love that our forebears, priests and the faithful gathered as a Catholic community 100 years ago, under the competent leadership and stewardship of Monsignor Wilfrid E. McDonagh, to build this enduring temple of the Lord.

Countless individuals, inspired by their unwavering commitment to Christ, have played pivotal roles in the growth and development of our worshipping community. We celebrate the faithfulness of God’s people through the ages, and we ask for His continued favour and gracious provisions as we are sent forth as stewards filled with hope and holiness for generations to come.

— Father Lawrence Mac Eachen, Pastor

The Ascension of Our Lord parish has reached a historic milestone, its 100th anniversary, 1927–2027.

This significant moment is a testimony to the enduring faith, deeply rooted religious heritage, and untold blessings from God that has shaped our parish and the steadfast presence of the English-speaking Catholic community of Westmount.

We wish to thank our pastors.
