ANOINTING OF THE SICK

January 29, 2023

Anointing of the Sick

February 11th is the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes, and World Day of the Sick. The ministry of Jesus to the sick is central to the life of the Church, and February 11th highlights the healing ministry of the Church. It reminds us that service to the sick and suffering cannot be neglected.

On Sunday, February 12th, we will have a communal Anointing of the Sick at the 10:30 a.m. mass. Anyone preparing for surgery, someone dealing with a serious illness, or an elderly person whose health is fragile, may be anointed at this mass.

If you have any questions, please speak with Father Mac Eachen.

A Special Thank You

On behalf of all our parishioners, I want to thank the three volunteers who set up our outdoor Creche for Christmas: Wilfrid De Freitas, Damon Smith and Greg Dunning; and David and Martha Barrington for decorating the Church and Sanctuary; Joel Peters our Organist and Choir Master who does an outstanding job, and our wonderful Choir for continually enriching our services with their music throughout the year, especially on our Feast days, such as Christmas; our Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, Altar Servers, our Ushers; our Board of Wardens; Alfredo and our Catechists who volunteer to teach our young students; Bonnie Auger for her countless services, Edmund Nash for his invaluable computer skills, and Victor our janitor. We thank all our parishioners who faithfully worship with us and support our parish with their financial contributions. We are grateful to our parishioners who regularly donate food and other items to support St. Willibrord’s Parish Food Bank, and to our children from our Catechism classes and the parents who donated an abundance of Children’s toys and gifts to support ‘Share the Warmth’, and all who gave a donation to the ‘Mass of Concern’ appeal to distribute to the various agencies and groups that serve the needy and less fortunate. May our Lord reward your kindness and generosity. I wish you all a very Blessed and Merry Christmas, and a New Year favoured with countless graces, blessings, and good health.

Food Bank Donation
