REMEMBRANCE BOOK

Remembrance Book

There is in the sanctuary a Book of Remembrance with the names of parishioners who have recently died.

You are invited to add the names of your loved ones and friends who have died, and we will pray for them throughout the month of November.

100 bags Centennial Initiative — Thank you!

A heartfelt thank you to all our parishioners who responded so generously to our Centennial Community Initiative,
bringing well beyond 100 bags filled with groceries for those in need, and cash donations to support this effort.

Om receiving the bags, Sister Dianna of the Food Bank at St. Gabriel’s expressed her gratitude:

“I am just overwhelmed with the generosity of the parishioners of Ascension of Our Lord.
The words ‘thank you’ do not come near to the gratitude I feel!
I just stood there and cried looking over the sea of bags and boxes as they were carried in from the truck.
This is one Centennial Celebration that gets an A++!”

Celebrating a historic milestone

For 100 years, Ascension of Our Lord Parish has been rooted in prayer, enriched by music, and strengthened by community.

We launched our yearlong celebration with a Centennial Opening Mass on
Sunday, May 24th, 2026

with Presider & Homilist  Father Raymond Lafontaine, E.V.
and concelebrant, our pastor Father Lawrence Mac Eachen followed by a vin d’honneur.

We look forward to many more occasions to celebrate in community  this year.

Food Bank Donation

We have a tradition in our parish to support the hungry on a more continuous basis. Over 860,000 Canadians visit food banks every month, with over 36% of the donations feeding hungry children.
