ASH WEDNESDAY MASSES
Ash Wednesday marks the first day of the Lenten season.
Lent is the liturgical time lasting 40 days before Easter when we prepare to commemorate Jesus’s Resurrection.
Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are mandatory days of both fast and abstinence for individuals aged 18-59 (fasting), and 14 plus (abstinence). Abstinence means we refrain from eating meat (beef, poultry, pork).
We will celebrate two masses on Ash Wednesday: 9:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.
Ashes will be blessed and distributed at both masses. Through prayer, fasting, penance and almsgiving (charity) for a period of 40 days we prepare spiritually for these solemn days.

MASS INTENTIONS
An April 2025 Vatican decree permits priests to accept multiple separate intentions and stipends for a single mass, known as “collective intentions” for both the Sunday and weekday mass.
These intentions will be published in the parish bulletin or on the parish website.
When a person requests a mass to be celebrated in the parish, he or she will be informed of this arrangement.
Food Bank Donation
We have a tradition in our parish to support the hungry on a more continuous basis. Over 860,000 Canadians visit food banks every month, with over 36% of the donations feeding hungry children.
