October is Giving Thanks Month at Ascension!
Join us in celebrating our Centennial through community generosity by helping Sister Dianna stock her food bank.
Our Goal:
Fill 100 bags with non-perishable food items valued at $50 or more per bag.
Saint Gabriel’s Parish, a cornerstone of Montreal’s historic Irish community, can no longer host its food bank or other activities after engineers warned that its church tower was crumbling.
The food bank has served the local community of Point St. Charles since the 1970s, when Sister Dianna Lieffers, Pastoral Assistant, took it over. Now operating from a former dollar store on Centre Street, it provides food to more than 200 people each week.
Pick up a bag at the front of the church and add your name to the sign-up sheet.
Your Commitment:
Fill your bag with items from Sister Dianna’s Food Bank Wish List and return it to the Ascension at Mass by November 1.
